Hi Christine,
theyre not mine, yet, i should have said!
theyre in a local auction, i think the tops were flat, so i suppose ground, but i seem to
remember, they were quite smooth, and ive seen a lot worse,
give me a hint and i will try for them, the estimate is £30-50, seemed cheap to me!
Regards Andy

If the top is flat ground, they're probably not English

the top is, i suppose ground flat, although they are fairly smooth, there is like 2 layers, i suppose outside is cased clear glass. Its  hollow all the way to the base( a few dead spiders trapped down there!) The amber applied
'petals' remind me of Italian? The white glass has the amber glow in light , so i suppose
opalescent?

thanks all,
any info welcome!

These are still growing on me, they go perfectly with one of my favourite Skrdlovice pieces,
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-4851

Ive been searching today, similar to stevens & williams or Stourbridge, but as Christine
points out , the ground top probably not English, do you think im looking more Bohemian than
Italian or english?

ps Max, thanks for the flowers! :-*

These may seem familiar, i popped them on a year ago, but with tiny pictures, and no conclusions,
so , as they are a little similar to several other recent threads, ive got larger photos, and now,
ive got a uv light, so just went in a dark room, and a surprise! They glow different colours ;D
The leaves on one are Bright Orange, the other one just reflects the purple uv.
The tops are flat and polished.
(Christine, you loved them ;) the orig thread was http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,9133.0.html
but it did wander off topic a bit, so its not a lot of help)
heres new photos,
any ideas?

Oh good!  I saw the first post and was disappointed by the small photos, so I'm glad you put more on.  Cool vases!  Interesting they glow different colors.  The one on the left in the first photo looks slightly better made, more regular and doesn't have the bubbles the other one has.  I wonder if they were made in different years by the same company, or one's a reproduction by another company.

I didn't think a ground rim automatically disqualified an English maker, does it?

And what the heck does "dewibbled" mean?  I wonder that every time I see it.

Wibble has become the board term for irrelevant chatter in threads, which is OK while the thread is still moving because sometimes one thing leads to another that might be useful. However, it takes up space and loses meaning when not current, so it is dewibbled  ;D This paragraph is wibble for dewibbling.

Andy have a look on this fairy lamp page. I reckon yours are maybe fairy lamps without domes and lamp cups
