Cased Pelton Vase = Peloton
« on: December 08, 2007, 02:58:31 PM »
Good Day everyone!  I've got a question for everyone.  There is a Woody Auction coming up in January and they have this Pelton Vase that's really neat!  I don't know anything about Pelton and in searching the internet nothing comes up.  Does anyone have some info on this particular person?

I think that should be "peloten", and it is the string glass application technique and not a person.  You should find plenty of info on peloten glass.

Peloton glass is discussed here on the board:

Marinka (membername = heartofglass) has a particular interest in this type of glass so she may be able to help with more info.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Thanks Anne, those were really helpful links.  In looking at that auction more clearly, there are several Peloten pieces being put up for auction!  Marinka has a wonderful collection!

There's some serious eye candy there, somebody had a very good eye. I need an awful lot of that glass... :st:

I know! Christine.  I'm thinking I'm going to have to try and go to this one.  If there is anything that is really off the wall that no one would recognize in a million years, let me know, I'll be sure to bid on it!  8)

I recently acquired this piece for Marinka. (I think I'm her UK agent  ;D)  It's on its way to Australia to her at the moment  :D   It looks pretty much identical to the one you intend to bid on, Nancy!  I'd be interested to hear what you have to pay for it, if you don't mind me asking!

I would LOVE to bid on so much of that glass!   :o   The vaseline green hanging basket on this page http://www.woodyauction.com/a426.jpg is just what I need for my 'thorn' frame!   ::)   :P
