I started collecting glass about a year ago, and after a few false starts decided that i really liked scandinavian (preferably Riihimaki) art glass. I really love the "space age" designs and I've been lucky enough to pick up a Ahkeraliisa vase by Helena Tynell (by far my favourite designer). Along the highway of collecting, i've picked up a few pieces that i have no idea what they are or how old they are? I buy from boot sales and charity shops, and rarely pay more than £5. I've often used this site as a identification resource, so i thought i'd register and try my luck. Can anybody help?

I've seen this referenced as Murano (Flavio Poli?) - 27 cm tall and it's really heavy...

I dark blue / grey jug with pinched spout and polished pontil 27 cms tall - any ideas?

A 28 cms tall red cased vase, i think it might be riihimaki - can anyone confirm this?

A vase / bowl that i thought might be Holmegaard - but now i'm not too sure...16cms tall

A lovely amber / yellow decanter - would love to know who it the manufacturer / desgner is? 25 cms tall

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-9917

There are are no marks / labels on any of the pieces and i'm trying to find out age and manufacturer / designer.

Any information would be highly appreciated, even if it's just to let me know that they were available to buy in IKEA last week  ;D

Thanks in advance, from an aspiring glass expert.

M

One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine. William Hartnell

Hi M and welcome to the board... as TC says, this one looks similar to the Wedgwood items I've seen by Frank Thrower. Some of these are acid stamped on the bottom Wedgwood but some aren't. Someone else may be able to confirm or otherwise for you.

BTW it's helpful if you post one item per topic for us... on two counts - one it's easier for us to archive once it's identified as we do this by country, and two it stops us getting confused over which bits we're talking about (and some of us get confused easily when there's several items in a topic. ;))
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
