Lovely quality vase, just found in an antiques shop,
Im sure its a bulb vase, (Patricia ;) )
16cm tall (about 6 1/4") inside rim width  4.5cm , neck just one medium fingers width.
Iridescent, glows bright green under UV, polished rim,
it is cased, the interior being opaque and shiny, outside satin finish, i think in pale green, not clear.
Is it another tulip bulb vase?
Bohemian? maybe English? Age?
Cheers,
Andy

Ive spent a while searching for this one.
Possibly Loetz , Olympia Glatt,
http://hometown.aol.com/dlfd912/images/holubetz.jpg
Ive seen a few similar shaped by Poshinger
http://hometown.aol.com/dlfd912/LoetzCollectionP13.html
also English Webb.
http://www.great-glass.co.uk/library/lib2ad.htm
(number 6347 'possibly Webb 1920s! )
Is there any clues to the Uranium ? Do Loetz glow? I think its the outside light green glass glowing, not
opaque centre. Any clues to rim, nicely polished, (not fire polished)
Cheers

a5.jpg clearly shows that it's uranium glass between two layers in- and outside? no idea about the maker, I'm afraid
NICE FIND

Thanks Pamela,
i think its just 2 layers, theres a beveled polished edge, which may look like a third.
Ive been in contact with Warren Galle, (thks ;) )
he is doubtful about Bohemian, loetz, Poshinger, and thinks i should look to an English maker,

Im thinking Thomas webb, or Stevens & Williams,
anyone? Its certainly looks the same as the great glass example, above, but they are not sure either :(

Is the cased or Uranium a clue?
(Warren, jjust curious, were loetz ever Uranium?)

Cheers all,
Andy

Definitely English, most likely Walsh Walsh. As for bulb vase you'll have to wait until Patricia is back from tour, meanwhile what is the diameter of the cup?

What sort of date are we talking here Ivo? I have two pieces of Primrose and the inner white is more opaque than Andy's vase. There was a green "Primrose" but that was a much deeper green than Andy's and I don't know if it was uranium. I also have a piece I believe to be Pompeian. All three have a very large circular polished pontil mark.

Thanks Ivo,
I like this one, its design appeals to me, unusual shape, i presume quite complicated to make,
would it be blown, or mould?
Its one that i would love to get a definite answer on. English would be good  ;D

16cm tall (about 6 1/4") inside rim width  4.5cm , neck just one medium fingers width.

I think Patricia will like this one  ;D

Bernard,
i wondered if you'd seen this, and your opinion on it, as its most likely English.
Cheers
