Hi,
Le Canard Enchaîné, (a paper which was once seen as so subversive, that any serving member of the French military was liable to summary execution for possession), a French satirical journal, (think Private Eye) still exists, and it might be worth you contacting them, Andy. Many talented artists and designers were contributors, a tradition which continues even now.

Experience teaches that anyone who begins to collect in any field can feel a change in his soul. He becomes a joyful man filled with a deeper empathy, and a more open understanding moves his soul.

It seems she does not have a Biography ,published or on the net, and very little about
her Father , Pol Ferjac, which seems a bit sad, i was getting the impression that her Father
had an interesting life, maybe connected with his time in the French resistance,
at one point, i was trying to explain the concept of collecting glass, and as an example i
mentioned Lalique, I got the impression there was a story about Charles De Gaulle, coming to London,
during the war, possibly bringing some with him?
Maybe i should suggest she has somebody talk to her about a Biography?
from the little available on the web, I get the impression she may not have children or many family.
(she mentioned family in the US, and she understand english better with an american accent!)

Whether my theory on the glass is right or wrong,it would be nice to find out more, maybe in the new year i
could ask a French speaking volunteer to help?
Cheers for now,
Andy

Im getting some history lessons, i see CDG came to the UK during the war and settled in
Berkhamsted and began organising the Free French forces !

I found this Christies link,
http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=4940526

Opalescent Sabino and Ferjac animals/fish which in this photo look very similar , and a Ferjac vase.
So, Andys new theory  ;D maybe Sabino were the factory for Ferjac ?
maybe?
I think the large fish in the front row is a Piranha, therefore large fish in the background is Sabino,
and looks very similar to Ivos ferjac Fish! (larger pic in this thread)
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,8564.0.html
identified as ferjac by Steven Mosquito

Its a bit like a jigsaw, but am i forcing the pieces to fit together, when they dont belong  :24:

As I said earlier I'm 95% certain these were made by

Chroisy-le-Roi -not Sabino

but CLR made for loads of people so that doesn't help you a lot

cheers

Well, sadly, my theory is not correct, i have spoken again to Anouk Ferjac, she says it is not
her fathers signature, and she is sure he was not responsible for the items in the photos that i sent to her :'(

 :hb1: :hb1: :hb1:

Sorry folks, back to the drawing board !

I so hoped I would find an answer in this thread!!  I've had a Ferjac bowl for about 15 years but I've never found anything and stopped looking 5 or 6 years ago.  Mine is also
black glass but if you take it outside so the sun shines on it (or a really strong indoor light) it actually turns out to be an amethyst/purple color and is transparent (barely).  I suspect the black vase is as well.  The bowl had a gold decorative ring just inside the rim.  The overall diameter is 16" and the rim is about 3 1/2".  The roses are painted on but they must be a stencil because they are look too similar.
