It may very well be a lookalike, but I never would have thought to check out pieces by Aseda.  I wasn't aware that they made cased pieces like this.  I'll likely save an ebay search for Borgstrom and Aseda and see what pops up.  I'd be surprised if a different company used the light blue glass as the inner layer as well.  But, regardless, this makes the subject more intriguing for me.

Funnily enough Aseda and Holmegaard are amongst the first companies most tend to think of when talking about cased glass.  Be aware that Aseda cased output - especially the designs of Bo Borgstrom is EXTREMELY weighty and the white inner casing tends to be be generally very thick.  I doubt very much this is a Bo Borgstrom design for Aseda.

Looks about right to me.  Judging from the photos of the labeled Borgstrom vase, the interior looks to be the same.   :hiclp: :hiclp: :hiclp:

As Christine emphasised, copies of designs tend not be an exact match and there will be all sorts of variation due to the working methods of the different manufacturers.

Yes, much like the Moretti satinato series. I'm comfortable with this item being a variation on the same design by the same designer until I see further photographic proof to the contrary. YAY!!! :hiclp: :hiclp: :hiclp:

Copies and derivatives are by their nature NOT by the same designer.

Dorian,

 People have ripped off other people's designs for as long as things have been made and you just can't assume objects with vague similarities will be from the same stable.
