Hungarian Round Cut Glass Bowl Etchings stars fans pinwheels
« on: January 31, 2010, 06:32:51 AM »
Hello,
I apologize for sending so many pictures, but while I am remembering how to submit the smaller size pictures, I would rather do it all at once.
I believe this bowl is from Hungary also.Cut glass with etching, large pinwheel on bottom with etching and etched star in the middle of it. Sides have deep grooves, fans, smaller pinwheels with etching and etched star in the middle. Rim is scalloped. No markings or signatures.
6 1/4" round top diameter
2" deep
2" high

It could also be Polish or Bohemian as the pinwheel motif is one used by a number of makers.   A good place to search for a pattern match is www.replacements.com - sometimes it's a case of ploughing through their images until you find a match.
