Hi Chris!

I went through all of Iittala's stuff - very similar to the Ultima Thule by them but not.  Thanks for looking!

We've been using these for years and I was quite surprised to find out some time ago they are actually Jeffrey Baxter whisky tumblers. Every time I plonk them into the dish washer I feel guilty but they seem to be doing OK there.
Plonk away Ivo definitely not Whitefriars

Sorry Ivo that one you have just shown is not W/Fs Baxter .

Who said WF? I wouldn't DARE utter the W-word on this board.  The RSW book from 1975 says they are made by Dartington.

Then they are Frank Thrower, not Geoffrey Baxter ;)

Chris, I'm certain they are identical, maybe the ice bucket will help to identify them !

this is Baxter. Things that look like it may be from Riedel or Oberglas, or from Raven - I guess there are others as well for textured tumblers.
Sorry Ivo must be me that's a little dumb 'this is Baxter' followed by a photo of a glass led me to think you were showing your Baxter tumbler ;D

My Dad's name was Frank Baxter.... (not Geoffrey or Jeffrey Thrower) but I don't think he had anything to do with Ivo's tumbler......
The Dartington tumbler and ejean's both look as if they're much nicer and far more practical to use than wfs Glacier - Glacier is the most horrible thing to hold - it's sharp and uncomfortably heavy, they actually hurt my hands. If I did use them, (which I don't, they're just too horrrible) I'd still be putting them in the dishwasher. :P

So I'm thinking my tumblers must be also by Hoya - the Ice Bucket in that Worthpoint ad shows the Hoya marking, and the glass/design is identical to that of the tumblers, it doesn't look much like a marriage to me.

I may be a little confused as well. ;)
