Hi. I think the confusion here arises out of one of the obvious errors in RSW's 2nd book 'Modern Glass' On page 33 Ronnie incorrectly attributes Baxter's Glacier range as being produced by Dartington. The maker is of course Whitefriars. I have no knowledge of Baxter working for Dartington. There are a few mistakes in the book it's still wonderful.

Cheers,

Richard

Thank you for the confirmation Richard, you too Bob
Kelli.... been doing some research on Hoya, only thing I can find is  a Japanese firm mainly involved in optical lenses? anyone else know of another Hoya glass? could it be red herring and just referring to the stainless steel handle maker?
Did manage to find this though, good clear photo and check the price  :sun:

Thanks for all the input - I did just find this listed at replacements.com - click on the "Old Fashioned" link on this page, and there we have my tumblers:

I've had decorative crystal plates with beautifully engraved flowers done by Hoya, but never anything like these. I appreciate everyone's help on these!

One of probably many labels used:

John

Mod: link converted to absolute URL (see URL line in File Information box below the image) - any other URL may not give the correct result depending on the viewer's sorting settings for GlassGallery
