holmegaard pin blown vase possibly ????????????
« on: November 14, 2010, 04:26:32 PM »
Hi

Another item I bought from a charity shop and cannot id. Not sure if it is old or new. It is a very heavy small dark blue egg shaped vase with a very narrow opening.  It stands at 5.5 inches tall and has a large polished pontil mark to the base

Many thanks for any info
Lewis

Colour doesn't look right for HG, and I'd expect it to be signed.

Why not show us some photos of the base?  It seems so often to be the point of difference that allows for identification.

Hi Ross

The first one is a picture of the base. Its a large polished pontil mark that nearly covers the whole base. Hard to photo

Thanks

I have never seen a Holmegaard item with a base anything like that.  It does seem to be some sort of copy of Holmegaard Rondo.
