yes, it does look to be identical.                  By this date much of the innovative inter-war deco influenced cutting had gone, unfortunately.    Fan splits, printies/punties and close patterned relief diamonds don't really excite, but presumably are commercially easier to produce - all three design elements lifted from the Georgians.         It's unlikely this cut pattern from Harbridge will be identified - apart from the obscurity of the factory's output, most of the Replacements.com type sites appear to carry little or nothing in the way of reference material for Harbridge, and we remain now as we seem always to have been - without a good book dedicated to English cut glass.          But who knows - maybe someone will strike lucky and find the name.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, whoever cut the biscuit barrel in picture 1 looks to have taken their inspiration from Kny - but in my opinion the other designs lack anything to quicken the pulse, though the vase in Reply 2 is quite eye-catching.        Sadly cut glass generally lacks popularity, and the pieces from the middle third of the C20 that do inspire are now expensive.        I wasn't aware Harbridge produced trinket sets.

Both the '57 & '58 PG Directories list them as manufacturers of

"Cut Crystal Glassware ... biscuit jars; candlesticks; carafes; celeries; cocktail sets; comports; condiment sets; decanters; fruit sets; grapefruits; lamps (table); mugs; rose, salad bowls; scent bottles; sundae glasses; trinket sets; tumblers; vases; water sets; wine suites."

Of course, Anne.  I'm always on the lookout for trinket set adverts  ;D

Unfortunately I only have two, and they're not for Harbridge  :(

Just found this one in the May 1949 Pottery Gazette, not an advert as such but in the Designed For Export section.  The tall thin vase at the back is the same pattern again.

This time there's accompanying text...

Quote
The group depicted here consists of an 8-in salad bowl (No. 740), a 10-in vase (No. 2263), a 1 1/2-pt jug and 1/2-pt tumbler (No. 1268).  All these pieces in crystal glass are made and entirely cut by hand, the jug and tumbler being units of a very popular Wine Suite.

The Harbridge Crystal Glass Co., Ltd., Platts Works, Stourbridge.

The wording of which, to me, suggests that the numbers in brackets relate to the pattern (as the jug and tumbler are the same design).

Wasn't what I was looking for but  ::) that's the way the cookie crumbles!  ;)
