Possible Harrtil vase - more info on designer?
« on: January 29, 2011, 10:05:37 AM »
I pretty much convinced it's a Czech Harrtil vase, the pattern of the glass fibres looks similar to me as the ones I've seen in books and online. According to Mark Hill, three different designers were involved with the vase shapes of the Harrtil range: Milan Metelak, Milena Lishkova and Marie Stahlikova. Is it known which one of them designed this particular shape?

The dimensions are 18.5 cm high, 7.5 cm across at the rim, and 6.5 cm across at the base. The base has more than enough wear for it to be around since the 1950s.

Surely Harrtil,
Milan Metelák + Miloš Půlpitel.

Miloš Půlpitel, technolgist of Harrachov glassworks invented Harrtil technology in 1954/1955 and in 15/06/1956 it had been pattented see:

The life details about Pulpitel are for the manwhile not known to me, I  have been told that in 60ties he escaped from communistic Czechoslovakia with his 20 years younger secretary   :D

This technology was mainly used by Milan Metelak, but also by M. Stahlikova and M. Veliskova.
Milan Metelak (* 17.8.  1928 Zelezný Brod, + 11.6. 1993 Harrachov)

1948 – 1952    Academy of Appled Arts in Prague - prof. Stipl
1955 – ???   Harrachov glassworks
