leaning jug.... any ideas??? ID = Anchor Hocking "Manhattan" Ball Pitcher
Lustrousstone:
I'm wrong. I assumed because the chatabout pic was labelled Hocking, it was not Anchor Hocking. Looks like I've assumed far too much...sorry. Ignore what I said Jeannie.
jeanniegal:
thats ok.... i dont want to keep it..its not my kinda thing, can i sell it on here??? when we know for sure what it is.Gosh there's so much to learn.have a great weekend :sun:
Cathy B:
Thanks, Christine. I wasn't sure at all what was going on.
Jeanniegal, it's probably best try to sell via eBay and then you can add new post to our Marketplace forum and include a link to the eBay ad. We don't allow advertising in the discussion section.
Lustrousstone:
We do know what it is. It's an Anchor Hocking Manhattan tilted/ball pitcher, made between 1938 and 1941 or 1943 (depending on which book you read). There are two sizes 24 fl oz and 80 fl oz. (I was just confused about when it was made.)
Fire King was an Anchor Hocking brand name introduced in 1940, but not, as I thought, exclusively for heat-resistant ranges http://www.collectorsweekly.com/glassware/anchor-hocking
I apologise again for any confusion I have created

;) And so you should be. Confusing people is my job.
