Hand Blown Jug Vase w/ Hole For Handle. Murano?
« on: November 13, 2011, 07:39:57 PM »
Hello again.  My apologies for listing so many posts.  I've been on a buying blitz and have no idea what i've been buying, other than they looked nice.  Though, I'm sure no one will have anything to comment, as my posts either stump all of the people who view them or they just choose not to comment for one reason or another.  Anyhoo, this jug is an odd color and it's cased with an applied rim.  The piece reminds me a bit of some other Murano pieces that have a pierced hole for the handle.  The color is sort of add too.  It's a caramel color with little bits of white in it too.  And then there is the teal glass rim.  The base has a highly polished pontil in the center and then not so polished around the rim.  It stands 8.25" inches tall.  I thought it possibly may be Chinese, but the work I've seen from China is a bit sloppy compared to this.
