Topic: Pretty perfume bottle signed DNS 93, gold leaf, shell shape design

Hi all
picked this piece up recently and have been wracking my brains as to the mark on the base, I believe its DNS '93.
'93 I would presume to be the year of manufacture and DNS the company or artist
The centre colour is a deep purple, cased in clear with gold leaf detail on the outside (which you can actually feel on the surface).
Including stopper 12.5cm tall, 7.5 wide, 5cm thick weighs 625g
The base is well polished, the stopper has been ground in the centre to give a good fit and the end is finished well. All in all its a well made piece.
Any ideas on the maker?

Found a DNS trade company in Hong Kong that makes has Perfume bottle on its list...took a quick pics at the first few pages and they did not look as nice as you, so I am not sure.....unless it is Notjust  DNS......but ____ _____ Studio, as the *S* could stand for Studio.

Just guessing here on the S could mean Studio -- otherwise just found what I posted above  :huh:

there is a slight gap between the N and the S so you could be onto something there. I dont think Its from Hong Kong, quality is too good. Ive got a feeling its more likely a small studio piece, probably from this country (UK)

I know what you mean about quality and Glass from Hong Kong -- yet take a look at this post of mine here.  The jury is still out on that one, but it also has gold flakes in it too, and Well made.  There are 2 pages there of interesting discussion for you to look at:

I think you are right about it being from UK.  I have attached a photo of a Patrick Stern perfume I own and the reason is the rather unusual collar yous has which is similar to mine.  Maybe you can find a way to ask Patrick where he learned that or if he has taught it to DN or DNS.

ahh maybe, I had not heard of Patrick Stern before but ive just read he is Anthony Sterns younger brother. I have had a piece of Anthony's work, so will now have to look out for Patricks.
Ross does your piece have a signiture on? if so can you pop it on so we can have a look

Ahremck is on page 9 of user galleries and patrick Stern is on page 2 of the British - Other sub-gallery.

Glad you found it.  There seems to be a slight problem with the sort function.  I sorted in Title order which put it on page 2 but that sort does not seem to have been retained when I left the site.  Ah well, another query for Anne.
