GLASS QUIZ: "Who Am I ?"
« on: June 06, 2012, 03:02:43 AM »
Hi there:
Me, doing a Quiz for you?  Now that's different.   LOL    It has a Label on it  ;D  So I have to go exactly by what the label says on it, as I might be still be in left field myself.  Willingly to give it a try?

Anyways:

~ I am about 8.25 inches tall
~ About 3 inches wide at the widest point on the bottom
~ Do show wear on the bottom
~ Weigh about 2.14 pounds, or almost 3 pounds

See pics for better description  but kinda have 6 vertical ribs going down me.  Each Rib has 2 spurs on it, so a total of 12 spurs.  Mixed Green/Blue in Color.................and I am stunning!!!  Nice CHUNK of GLASS!!

Who am I (maker?)

:-\  (( must be exact as to what the label states in order to win...... ))      I am posting it as a Quiz BECAUSE it has a label and need that solely for the answer.....LOL

I wouldn't care what it was if it were mine  - the MINE bit would be the most important.
(although I'm very, very curious, because I am now on the look-out for one).
I am suspecting Czech or Norwegian.
But it could be something I know nothing about such as Murano, Moser or VSL.
It's something very seriously superior. I can smell the quality from here......

I have just been looking through as many Chalet and Lorraine glass pieces I can find (knowing your love of them :)) but no luck.  Is it Japanese perhaps?

 ;D
I think you and I are on totally different tracks here, M.  :-*
I can't see it being from either of them. Not criticising the great quality of Chalet or Lorraine, no slur intended at all - but this is in a different league.
Is there a seriously top quality Japanese maker I don't know about?

Here is some more pics.....and of the Gold Foil Label on it.  It says:  KAMEI GLASS.

Boy, I tell you -- that piece IMHO could take a run up against some of the Czech Glass.  It is totally AWESOME!!

I am not sure IF we have that label at all (possibly new found label for the Board) as I have not found this exact label on anything yet.  The base does show wear.....maybe the 1960's my guess.

Anyone seen this label before?  It is a gold Foil label....

I could not believe it, as I was in shock too.  It is a quality vase!!

((  I know Wayne will be interested in seeing this one too..... ))

 ;)
Can't put my finger on what made me think Japanese, but there is something about the balance of the piece I think.
