Hi, can someone help me any info on this Isel of Wight piece please, as I'll be ebaying it this week and don't want to look a total plonker....

Six inches tall, 2.25 inches square. Irredescent with strapping. Stopper is clear but with teardrop shaped controlled bubbles at the base of it. Flame symbol impressed on base. thanks Emmi

From a non-expert's point of view I'd say not. The strapping is more indicative of Mtarfa/Mdina, so perhaps one of those? Nice piece whatever it is. Sue should be able to confirm though.

Heck, Emmi, we've all bought cr*p at some stage thinking we were onto winners! Trouble is, eBay is such a seductive place to hang out... :?

It has the I o W flame symbol on the base, so I would not think it is Mdina???
emmi
David E:
In that case I'd say it was definitely IoW  Sorry, I thought you were looking for an ID... I'll get me coat...
David E:
Aha! There's one very similar shown in the 2006 Miller's Collectables, p.307, but in 'Pink & Blue Swirls' pattern. According to info from Sue, the flame impressed pontil should date it prior to 1982.
