Topic: Tango vase with unusual features

Hi

couldnīt resist this lovely vase today...
The inner is made of orange glass with a thick clear glass casing. The contrasting black consists
of a very fine threading, which is also decorated with a cut pattern.
Anyone dare a guess about a maker?

Itīs ca. 22cm tall.

Although I believe the Etsy attribution to be correct, I am not sure this one is by Kralik also.....  whoever did it, it is a really nice piece of Art Deco Modernism....

Kosta Boda springs to mind.   I had a search on google and unable to find anything with this sort of design.   I must say, it ia a very nice piece indeed.

I took the day to think about it. Perhaps itīs the thick clear casing, even thicker than needed for
the cut pattern, which makes me tend to agree with you, Craig.
Hence I tried a few bavarian glassworks... This Jean Beck looks vaguely related:

Exciting... Did some more googling into that direction and found related pieces attributed to
Poschinger     
Bit earlier than I would have thought.

Well I never!    I spent a good few hours going through various sites, google included.  That's another glass vase to look out for and now in my favourites.   Excellent find!

Beck seems quite plausible, although I would question a date that early for the work.....  just a gut feeling....

I also do not remember ever having seen similar work attributed to Poschinger. Not saying it isn't, just does not seem quite right to me. I have seen quite a few attributions to Loetz by that auction house that were not correct, so as with almost every auction house, I question attributions unless I know different.
