I was told when I got this that it was likely a Lorraine vase out of Canada. It was purchased with a number of other pieces that are Lorraine. It turns out that may actually be incorrect information.
The vase stands at about 15 inches and the color gradually fades from a very nice Cranberry at the rim to a lighter shade at the base. It has a clear applied foot that has "reverse drips" or teardrops coming up the sides from the base in clear. The bottom of the piece is ground and polished flat and shows age wear. The mouth and lower area of the vase are 3 inches in diameter.....
When I purchased the vase it came out of a barn where it had been stored in newspaper with a large amount of glass, mostly Lorraine and Chalet glass from the 60's to early 70's.
It struck me, for some reason, that the drips up the side were reminiscent of some Skrdlovice pieces if my memory serves me correctly....
Any help on this one is greatly appreciated......
TIA
