Thanks, I'll have a look at the tech link. I'll try to remember the "modify" bit!  I think I've cracked getting the photos down in size.......we shall see.

It could be Wisteria, or maybe Cherry, what do you think?

Cherry leaves are a pointed oval shape, those are heart-shaped leaves (bindweed sort of ones - very often used on glass, presumably because of their interesting shape).
I'm not very good at plants, I'm afraid, but we do have a few folk here who are. :)

Puss looks a lot more cheerful and a lot less sinister in your later image.

The surface inbetween the cat and the vegetation looks very like a corroso finish - that's a very heavily acid treated way of doing things - but again, not an area I know much about at all.

I think we need more opinions! ;D

looking at the latest image it may be that I was wrong about which is in relief and which is lower.
It now appears that the decorative images of flora and fauna are in fact lower than the frosted parts  -  am I correct? :)

Paul, you were correct initially, the clear is raised, the frosted lower, taking good photos of glass is harder than I thought!

Chopin-Liszt, I think perhaps we do need a green fingered friend to get to the root (sorry) of the tree problem. I'm off to look up "corroso"  :)

Thank you both for taking such an interest, I really appreciate your help.

I have managed to get hold of a UV torch and the vase glows green so I'm guessing it's uranium, does this help anyone to narrow down who may have made this?   :)

 :)
How bright is the green?
Does it "take over" in a zingy way or is it a duller, more diffuse sort of colour?

Thankfully it doesn't glow to the point I feel the need to evacuate!  :)  More, like you say, a diffused green. I've tried to take a picture to illustrate, hope it helps.
