Looking at the top rim and how the base is attached to the stem I'm not convinced that this glass is cut cristal at all ???

It has the Bayel mark, as per: http://chataboutdg.com/gallery/img3151.htm

Thanks for chiming in!

In addition, replacements.com said it will get back to me within 3-5 days.

replacements.com replied with this, "We do not have stock in your pattern at this time nor do we know the original pattern name. We have given this pattern a number (BAY10) to be able to add it to our database and search for matching pieces. We will notify you once pieces become available."

I sure hope it does not mean this edition is rare/antique..

It's a fairly ordinary pattern and relatively modern judging from the rim, so I doubt it's either rare or antique. Your best bet is to fess up instead of beating yourself up. It doesn't look like a priceless item

whew!! That's a relief.
Still it isn't nice. What if it was from an aunt who has since passed away.

I had a look on Ebay.fr for you and even though I didn't come across this pattern, other patterns sell for about €10 a piece...

Also Jan Kilian of glaskilian.de - specialized in stemware - shares my opinion that this is pressed (crystal) glass, not cut. Probably produced for exportation abroad and it will be difficult to find a replacement here in Europe.

@Anne Tique @pamela Thank you very much for helping me to look around :)

@Anne Tique -  On this website Royale de Champagne-Bayel the price of one piece ranges from 40 to 100 euros. So I was thinking of asking my friend to set a price to replace the set, and I'm readying myself for 160-400 euros.. Not good news for someone who's gone back to school as a mature student. This will be a lesson in being more careful.

@pamela - I looked up pressed and cut glass and can't decide which would be this glass, and will trust your opinion. (It doesn't have the dimples that pressed glass is supposed to have.) I sure hope 'made for export'=modern + affordable. Couldn't find this brand in the malls here.

I guess from the site you mentioned, you would get a new set of glasses, but as the glass that you broke is not yours, you'd like to spend as little as possible ... well, I presume anyway. Here's a link with a few examples, the pattern you're looking for is not for sale right now, unless I have missed it, but it gives you an idea how much you'd be paying on ebay.fr. You would probably pay more for shipping than the price of the glass itself, but you'd still pay less.
