Broke a Bayel Cristal glass from this set. Where to buy?
« on: October 26, 2015, 10:33:13 AM »
I broke a friend's glass, and am terrified about telling him. I hope to have the set's edition name so I can google for it more easily.

I haven't been able to find this set on Etsy and Ebay using "Bayel Cristal" (which I ascertained, thanks to this forum). Any tip where I may get this? I'm in South Australia.

Hi and welcome. :)
One thing about glass is that it can break. It's just part and parcel of using it. Accidents happen.
There is a well known internet site for tracking down patterns on glasses and buying single replacements.
Here's a link. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.
The 'friend' is my landlord :( Guess not so much of a friend, and maybe even less of one after he finds out!

A landlord should not be putting glasses which they treasure in their rented property in the first place. ;)
I assume s/he has a deposit from you to cover breakages etc.?
I don't even know if these are expensive ones - I can't tell much from your pics. (Cut stuff is very difficult to photograph.)

There is a heck of a lot of stuff to trawl through on that site, but it is the best known one for this sort of problem.
If nothing else, you might be able to find the name of the pattern.
But if your landlord makes a fuss about it, they are being unreasonable. Accidents happen.

He has some misunderstanding about me, plus there are some mistakes that I did make. So, I've been treading on eggshells the past week. He can also be very generous, so I feel bad.

It's so stressful staying with the landlord!

I've taken new pics with my camera.

The glass feels expensive..

@Ivo

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the glass isn't among them. I went through every page, as well as the collections in the left-hand sidebar, but to no avail. Really appreciate your help :)

Maybe you could search for CRC, the other name for Bayel.
