No, it's not true as far as I know

It is my understanding from reading a variety of information, that the 'sunset glow' is possibly dependent on what opacifier was used in the batch (not always bone ash).
(and perhaps dependent on other
chemicals ingredients added to the batch as well as the opacifier ... and it might also depend on how the glass was cooled or reheated in conjunction with the type of opacifier, I don't know).
(no quote please, that is just my understanding).
So for example, this piece is definitely without any shadow of a doubt, an old (probably c.1840/50)piece of opaline (coloured, translucent, colour mixed in the batch) glass .... it has no glow as far as I remember
