Fabulous find! I absolutely love the bell shape and hyacinth colour.

It's always curious how things moved from French blue opaline of the very early 1800s (when English makers were hampered by tax) to the white with blue enamelled decoration on of the English glass of a later period.  It makes me wonder if the English makers weren't able to make the blue opalines or perhaps it was too expensive?

 Is it at all possible to have a very clear close up of the stencil decoration please? Thanks so much :)

Hello M, will get some photos in the morning, it's the first piece I've seen by Richardson's in blue, been after something like this for ages  ;)
