The body would have been made in a mould - then the handle is applied seperately, using molten glass.

The image on it is a door knocker - a lion's head holding the knocky bit.

Perhaps it might be a souvenir of an important building featuring such a door knocker??

It looks quite crude with an uneven rim and large bubbles. What country are you in? Can you feel the lion's head on the inside?
