I think this might be my perfect piece of green opaline  :rah:  It has the most amazing glow under UV light.  Beautifully cut sides, polished pontil, rounded corners, some dark marks (frit?) in the stopper and neck of the bottle.
However, I've searched opaline for many months now and so far I've not managed to id any of my pieces ::)
With this one, I have found perfume bottles that are the same cut as this one, and green, but they have ormolu mounts either on the corners or over the stopper/collar/neck and their stoppers are different.  I'm sure this stopper is right for this bottle. The stopper has a 10 on the bottom of it.  Please ignore the smudges on it, it is perfectly polished and shiny. It doesn't look like a European 1 to me though??
So I am wondering..Is it French?  or is it maybe Bohemian?  Would it be called Chrysoprase if it were French, or is called Chrysoprase anyway, because it is  a combination of Uranium and opaline glass.  Could it be 1870's? or is it later?  Is it maybe not French or Bohemian?  Ivo I am counting on you  ;D

Sorry, I can' help - but Christine's going to have her tongue hanging out and I'm sure she might be able to say something useful about it.
It is rather splendid.

Her tongue is hanging out, but she can contribute nothing useful, most of her jade glass is unidentified.

Yes, definitely. It is a green opaline containing uranium. It could be Chrysoprase (mine are much lighter but there are many shades) but other than that I could imagine a whole series of makers for such an item - from the 1870s right through the 1970s!  I would add Italy and Belgium and Sweden to your shortlist. Good luck - I cannot get more specific.

I think my tongue is hanging out as well - would go well in my collection    You say the stopper carries a No. 10  -  do you see a matching No. on the neck or base?  You don't give the height m, but if largish might it perhaps be a cologne, do you think?
The in's and out's of green opaque uranium glass is a proverbial subject for discussion, and goes back some way in time..............see here for even more confusion:.
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,3159.msg3563.html#msg3563 .............and if you use the GMB search, there are many more to enlighten you, or otherwise ;)
Anyway, very good find m

I was thinking it looked very chemist's-y.
The straight sides, if in a row of bottles, would pack neatly together.

You'll just have to display it as the "gorgeous glowing green gottle" and enjoy it for now!
