Rosie, the hedgehog is lovely. You know I love ZBS critters!

Chris, your Urban vase is wonderful!  I don't have the 20048 in my collection yet, but one day...
Lucky fellow.  Thank you for sharing.  :kissy:

I was outbid on one of these hedgehogs (identical), the other week and was so grumpy about it, but then when this one came up so soon afterwards, I was determined, and although it wasn't cheap, I paid less than the other person did for theirs,  so my Guardian Angel was definately there for me.  :sun:

also quite rare in the wild now, I understand  -  major demise over the past 3 - 4 years - and the only two I've seen in recent years have both been dead on the road.   Very sad.

Not in my suburban garden, we had about 5/6 different ones visiting over the autumn. (K set up a pig-cam with a feed to a monitor and to his computer so we could see and record them.)

You are so lucky Christine,  like Paul, the only ones I ever see now are dead ones on the side of the road with badgers, squirrels and pheasants......it makes me so sad.
Maybe that's why I collect glass ones, at least I can know they are safe here with me.

yes, apologies, I should have added that my comments were referring to the south east of the U.K. only.      I'm glad, and relieved to hear that they are prospering in other areas - they are endearing, and seem quintessentially English - although I'm sure they are distributed world-wide.

I was sooooooooooo pleased to have won a very large ZBS animal (not sure if it's supposed to represent a bird or a mammal)... I've been waiting for days and days for it to arrive from the Czech Republic.  Today, it finally did.

Sadly, and stupidly, I placed the poor creature while it was still in bubble wrap face down on the table, breaking its nose / beak.

My husband said he'd fix it for me.  This time, not with a blowtorch, but with some superglue and a lot of TLC.

Oh Anik,  that is so sad....poor little 'whatever-is' you must be heart broken!
I've started  opening my glass over a soft surface to hopefully prevent that from happening,  but the trouble is, when you have waited a long time for something to arrive, you are just desperate to open and see it, so it can so easily happen.
Let's hope the repair makes it look good as new for you, jolly glad your not letting your OH use the blow torch this time!  :X:
